abstract |
A continuous process for preparing a silica product is described herein, comprising: (a) continuously feeding an acidifying agent and an alkali metal silicate into a reaction zone of the loop comprising a stream of liquid medium; wherein at least a portion of the acidifying agent and the alkali metal silicate react to form a silica product in the liquid medium of the loop reaction zone; (b) continuously recirculating the liquid medium through the reaction zone of the loop; and (c) continuously discharging a portion of the liquid medium comprising the silica product from the reaction zone of the loop. Silica products and dentifrice compositions comprising silica products are also described. A continuous loop reactor is also described. |
