Claim 7: A composition, characterized in that it comprises: isolated polypeptides having molecular weights between 131 kDa and 121 kDa, between 108 kDa and 98 kDa, between 92 kDa and 64 kDa, between 53 kDa and 43 kDa, between 33 kDa and 19 kDa, wherein the polypeptides can be isolated from a Fusobacterium necrophorum when incubated in a medium comprising a zinc chelator and cannot be isolated when grown in the medium without the zinc chelator and isolated polypeptides having molecular weights between 79 kDa and 69 kDa and between 65 kDa and 55 kDa, where the polypeptides are expressed by Fusobacterium necrophorum when incubated in a medium without the zinc chelator and are expressed at an improved level during growth in a medium that It comprises a zinc chelator, wherein the composition protects mice against a challenge with Fusobacterium necrophorum.
