titleOfInvention IMPROVED CYTOTOXIC AGENTS UNDERSTANDING MAITANSINOIDS
abstract Claim 1: A maitansinoid of the formula (1): May-Q-CR¹R²SZ (1) wherein May represents a maitansinoid, Q-CR¹R²SZ represents an acylated amino acid group at positions C-3, hydroxymethyl C-14, hydroxy C- 15, or C-20 demethyl of said maitansinoid, Z represents H, SR or -COR, where R is a linear alkyl or alkenyl radical of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or branched or cyclic alkyl or alkenyl of 3 to 10 atoms of carbon or an aryl or heterocyclic aromatic or heterocycloalkyl radical, substituted or unsubstituted, characterized in that R¹ and R² independently represent each other linear alkyl or alkenyl with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, branched or cyclic alkyl or alkenyl having 3 to 10 carbon atoms , phenyl, substituted phenyl or an aromatic heterocyclic radical or heterocycloalkyl, and also, one of R¹ and R² may be H, and wherein the acyl group has a linear chain length of at least three carbon atoms. Claim 2: A compound represented by the formula (2), wherein: Y represents (CR⁷R⁸) ₗ (CR⁹ = CR¹⁰) ₚ (C ° C) qAr (CR⁵R⁶) ₘDᵘ (CR¹¹ = CR¹²) ʳ (C ° C) ₛBₜ (CR³R⁴) ₙCR¹R²SZ , in which A, B, D are cycloalkyl or cycloalkenyl radicals with 3-10 carbon atoms, simple aryl or substituted aryl or an aromatic heterocyclic radical or heterocycloalkyl; R³, R⁴, R⁵, R⁶, R⁷, R⁸, R⁹, R¹¹ and R¹² are each independently H, linear alkyl or alkenyl with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, branched or cyclic branched alkyl or alkenyl with 3 to 10 carbon atoms , phenyl, substituted phenyl or an aromatic heterocyclic radical or heterocycloalkyl; l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, and t are each independently from each other 0 or an integer from 1 to 5, provided that at least two of l, m, n, o, p, q , r, syt are not zero at any given time; Z is H, SR or -COR, where R is linear alkyl or alkenyl having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, branched or cyclic alkyl or alkenyl having 3 to 10 carbon atoms, or simple or substituted aryl or an aromatic heterocyclic radical or heterocycloalkyl, characterized in that R¹ and R² independently represent each other linear alkyl or alkenyl with 1 to 10 carbon atoms, branched or cyclic alkyl or alkenyl with 3 to 10 carbon atoms, phenyl, substituted phenyl or an aromatic or heterocycloalkyl heterocyclic radical, and likewise R² can be H.
