abstract The present application refers to processes and intermediates for making 4 - ({2 - [(aminosulfonyl) amino] ethyl} amino) -N- (3-bromo-4-fluorophenyl) -N-hydroxy-1,2,5- oxadiazol-3-carboximidamide, which is an indolamine 2,3-dioxygenase inhibitor useful in the treatment of cancer and other disorders. Claim 1: A process characterized in that it reacts a compound of the formula (1), wherein R⁴ is C₁₋₆ alkyl, C₁₋₆ haloalkyl, benzyl or 9H-fluoren-9-ylmethyl with a compound of the formula (2) , to provide a compound of the formula (3). Claim 22: The compound of the formula (1) as described in the process of claim 1, characterized in that R⁴ is C₁₋₆ alkyl, C₁₋₆ haloalkyl, benzyl or 9H-fluoren-9-ylmethyl.
