abstract A process for obtaining 2-isopropoxy-b-methylstyrene not contaminated with residues of the intermediate allyl derivative, from 2-isopropoxy bromophenol and allyltributyltin in anhydrous diglyme, in the presence of LiCl and PPh₃, catalyzed by PD (Ph₃P) ₂Cl₂, in a Single stage and no step of purification chromatography. 2-Isopropoxy bromophenol was prepared by reacting 2-bromophenol with isopropyl bromide in absolute EtOH, in the presence of K₂CO₃ and NaI.
