titleOfInvention IMPROVED WEED CONTROL METHODS
abstract Method for improving the tolerance of a plant, which has been genetically modified to overexpress a p-hydroxyphenylpyruvate-dioxygenase (HPPD), to a herbicide that inhibits HPPD, where said method comprises applying a water-soluble compound containing iron to said plant. It also refers to a method for selectively controlling weeds at a site, where the site comprises weeds and crop plants, where crop plants have been genetically modified to overexpress an HPPD that confers tolerance to a herbicide that inhibits HPPD , where the method comprises the application to the site of (i) an amount of a herbicide that inhibits the weed control HPPD and (ii) a water-soluble iron-containing compound. The present application also relates to herbicidal compositions comprising a herbicide that inhibits HPPD and a water-soluble iron-containing compound.
