A method for treating liquefied hydrocarbons that includes acid gases to eliminate acid gases and minimizing the loss of amine species, the method comprises the step of contacting liquefied hydrocarbons with an aqueous absorbent solution of a first amine compound, the first amine compound having the structure of formula (1) wherein R¹ is propane-2,3-diol, R² is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, 2-hydroxyethyl or propane-2,3-diol, and R³ is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl, 2-hydroxyethyl or propane-2,3-diol. |
