| abstract | Claim 1: A method of control and / or prevention of pests that inhabit the soil in useful plants comprising the application at the site of the useful plants or the treatment of the plant propagation material thereof with a compound of formula (1) , where cycle A is of formula (2) or (3) where A¹, A², A³ and A⁴ are independently CH or nitrogen and where # 1 indicates the link to X and # 2 indicates the link to cycle B; cycle B is selected from the compounds of formula (B1) - (B6) where # 1 indicates the link to cycle A, # 2 indicates the link to R⁷ and # 3 indicates the link to cycle C; cycle C is phenyl; R⁵ is chlorine, bromine, CF₃ or methyl; R⁷ is chlorodifluoromethyl or trifluoromethyl; each R⁸ is independently bromine, chlorine, fluoro or trifluoromethyl; p is 1, 2 or 3; and X is selected from the residues of formula (P1) - (P9). Claim 2: The use of a compound of formula (1) as defined in claim 1 for control in useful plants of a pest that lives in the soil. Claim 18: A method of using a compound of formula (1) according to any one of claims 1-17, wherein the compound of formula (1) is a mixture of the compound of formula (4) and the compound of formula ( 5) wherein the substituents are as defined in claim 1 and wherein said mixture is enriched in the compound of formula (5). Claim 19: A method or use according to any one of claims 1-18, wherein X is of formula (P2), (P3) or (P4). Claim 20: A method or use according to any of claims 1-19, wherein cycle A is the cycle of formula (2). Claim 21: A method or use according to any one of claims 1-20, wherein cycle B is the cycle of formula (B1), (B2) or (B3).
