titleOfInvention A METHOD FOR MICROENCAPSULAR AN ACTIVE PRINCIPLE WITH AN ENTERIC MATRIX AND MICROENCAPSULATED PARTICULATED COMPOSITIONS AS WELL PREPARED
abstract A method for microencapsulating an active ingredient with an enteric matrix, comprising; a) stir a combination of water and enteric materials, the combination substantially free of organic solvents, at a pH so that the enteric materials are soluble in water to form a solution; b) mixing a hydrophobic liquid that contains the active ingredients within the solution; e) homogenize the hydrophobic liquid and the solution to create an emulsion; and d) acid emulate the emulsion with an amount of acid effective to precipitate a particulate of the microencapsulated hydrophobic liquid in the enteric material. Claim 20: A microencapsulated particulate composition, characterized in that it comprises: a hydrophobic liquid; a matrix configured to microencapsulate the hydrophobic liquid therein, the matrix includes an enteric material; and a coating around the matrix, the coating includes a combination of a plasticizer and an enteric coating material to cover the enteric matrix. Claim 21: The composition of claim 20, characterized in that the enteric material is sodium caseinate and shellac.
