titleOfInvention COMPOSITIONS THAT INCLUDE CIS-1,1,1,4,4,4-HEXAFLUORO-2-BUTENO AND 2-DIFLUOROMETOXI-1,1,1-2-TETRAFLUOROETHANE AND USES OF THESE
abstract A composition is provided which comprises cis-1,1,1,4,4,4-hexafluoro-2-butene (cis-HFO-1336mzz) and 2-difluoromethoxy-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane (HFE-236eaEbg ). Such compositions may be azeotropic or similar to the azeotrope. In addition, methods for producing cooling and for replacing HCFC-123, CFC-11, or CFC-113 in a cooler are provided. In addition, processes are provided for recovering heat, for generating energy, and for replacing HFC-245fa in energy cycles. Claim 8: A method for producing cooling, the method characterized in that it comprises evaporating a composition of claim 1 in an evaporator in the adjacent area of a body to be cooled, and thereby produce cooling. Claim 9: A method for producing cooling in a cooler, the method characterized in that it comprises evaporating a composition of claim 1 in an evaporator; passing a thermal transfer medium through the evaporator, where the evaporation stage cools the thermal transfer medium, and passing the thermal transfer means out of the evaporator to a body to be cooled. Claim 12: A process for generating energy from heat characterized in that it comprises evaporating a working liquid in liquid phase comprising a composition of claim 1 in a heat exchanger in contact with a system that provides heat and thus producing a working fluid in the vapor phase and passing said working fluid in the vapor phase to an expander where mechanical energy is produced. Claim 15: A process for generating energy from the heat received from a heat source characterized in that it comprises: (a) compressing a working fluid in the liquid phase above said critical pressure of the working fluid; (b) passing said working fluid of Step (a) through a heat exchanger or a fluid heater and heating said working fluid to a temperature that is higher or lower than the critical temperature of said working fluid, wherein said heat exchanger or said fluid heater is in communication with said heat source that supplies said heat; (c) removing at least a portion of the hot working fluid from said heat exchanger or fluid heater; (d) passing at least a part of the hot working fluid to an expander, where at least a part of said heat is converted into mechanical energy, and where the pressure of the hot working fluid is reduced below the critical pressure of said working fluid, and thereby converting said at least a part of the hot working fluid into a steam working fluid or a mixture of the steam and liquid working fluid; (e) passing said steam working fluid or mixture of the steam and liquid working fluid of said expander to a condenser, wherein said at least a part of said steam working fluid or said mixture of the steam and liquid working fluid it condenses completely in the liquid working fluid; (f) optionally, mixing said liquid working fluid with said first liquid working fluid in Step (a); (g) optionally, repeat Stages (a) through (f), at least once; wherein the working fluid comprises a composition of claim 1.
