titleOfInvention A DEVICE FOR STORAGE AND ADMINISTER A TOPIC COMPOSITION OF OXIBUTININ NOT OCCUPIED
abstract Claim 1: A device for storing and administering a topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin comprising: a) a topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin comprising: i) a therapeutically effective amount of oxybutynin; ii) a thickening agent and iii) 50% or more based on the weight of the topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin of a solvent; b) a reservoir for the topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin; and c) a laminate surrounding the reservoir and the topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin comprising: i) a first polymer that is in contact with the topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin; and ii) a metal sheet bonded to the first polymer layer in which the device can withstand 30 pounds (206.84 kPa) of pressure without bursting when pressed between two plates of a motorized test stand and when the device is stored at 25 ° C and 60% relative humidity for twenty six weeks; the topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin contains no more than 0.2% ethyl ester of phenylcyclohexyl glycolic acid (PCCE); no more than 2.0% phenylcyclohexyl glycolic acid (PCCA) and there is no more than 20% change in solvent content. Claim 4: The device of claim 1 wherein the topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin is a gel, cream or lotion. Claim 6: The device of claim 1 wherein the topical composition of non-occluded oxybutynin comprises about 2% to about 20% based on the total weight of the oxybutynin composition. Claim 21: A method for treating human patients suffering from overactive bladder comprising the steps of a) providing a storage and administration device as defined in claim 1 to a human being; b) dispensing a single or daily dose of the oxybutynin composition of the device; and c) applying the single or daily dose of the oxybutynin composition to a skin surface of the human patient.
