Process for producing cells capable of converting arabinose comprising the following steps: a) introducing the araA, araB and araD genes into a host strain that cannot convert arabinose, where the resulting cell is known as a constructed cell; b) subject the constructed cell to an adaptive evolution until a cell capable of converting arabinose is obtained; c) optionally, subjecting the first cell capable of converting arabinose to an adaptive evolution to improve the conversion of arabinose, where the cell obtained in step b) or c) is known as the first cell capable of converting arabinose; d) analyze all or part of the genome of the first cell capable of converting arabinose and of the constructed cell; e) identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the first cell capable of converting arabinose; and f) use SNP information in the rational design of a cell capable of converting arabinose; g) build the cell capable of converting arabinose designed in step f). |
