abstract The present application provides a convenient process for performing a transition metal sulfide with lithium content involving heating at least one transition metal sulfide with a lithium content compound, wherein the lithium content compound is selected from one or plus lithium oxide, lithium sulfate, lithium carbonate, anhydrous lithium hydroxide, lithium hydroxide monohydrate, lithium oxalate, lithium nitrate and any material that is a precursor to any of these lithium-containing compounds.
