titleOfInvention | PLANTS THAT HAVE IMPROVED FEATURES RELATED TO PERFORMANCE AND A METHOD FOR OBTAINING THEM |
abstract | A method to improve various plant growth characteristics by modulating the expression in a plant of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a GS1 (Glutamine Syntase 1). Also plants that have modulated expression of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a GS1, where said plants have improved growth characteristics with respect to the corresponding wild-type plants or other control plants. In addition, a method to improve various traits related to plant performance by modulating the expression in a plant of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a PEAMT polypeptide (phosphoethanolamine N-methyltransferase). Also plants that have modulated expression of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a PEAMT, where said plants have improved performance-related traits with respect to the corresponding wild-type plants or other control plants. It also provides nucleic acid sequences encoding PEAMT unknown so far. Likewise, a method for increasing various traits related to the performance of plant seeds by increasing the expression in a plant of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a fatty acid acyl carrier protein (ACP) thioesterase B polypeptide ( FATB). Also plants that have greater expression of a nucleic acid sequence encoding a FATB polypeptide, where said plants have increased traits related to the yield of the seeds with respect to the control plants. It also refers to nucleic acid sequences, nucleic acid sequence constructs, vectors and plants containing said nucleic acid sequences. On the other hand, a method for improving various plant growth characteristics by modulating the expression in a plant of a nucleic acid sequence encoding an LFY type (LEAFY type). It also provides constructs that are useful in the methods of the present. |
