| abstract | In one aspect, the present refers to silicon-based prepolymers. The described prepolymers exhibit solubility in aqueous solutions or hydrophilic solutions and can overcome the shrinkage, expansion and related undesirable problems posed by conventional silicone monomers and conventional polymerization techniques, by producing hydrogels from a crosslinkable prepolymer. Methods for producing the described prepolymers are also described. This summary is given as an exploratory tool for research purposes in the particular subject and it is not proposed to limit this. |
