titleOfInvention ACOUSTIC PANEL WITH LOW GENERATION OF DUST, A MILK AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN ACOUSTIC PANEL.
abstract An acoustic panel includes an acoustic layer having a crosslinked matrix of polyethylene glycol calcium sulfate dihydrate and at least one of the group of fibers, a light aggregate and mixtures thereof. The acoustic layer has gaps in the crosslinked matrix that are configured to absorb sound. The polyethylene glycol is selected so that the powder agglomerates at temperatures generated by friction when the panel is cut. One method of manufacturing the acoustic panel includes making a slurry comprising calcium sulfate hemihydrate, polyethylene glycol, water and at least one of the group consisting of a light aggregate, fibers and combinations thereof. Foam is added to the slurry, preferably at the discharge of the mixer. A continuous tape of the material of the acoustic layer of the grout is formed. Acoustic panels are formed by cutting the tape into individual panels. Finally, partially hydrated calcium sulfate hemihydrate is allowed to set.
