| abstract | Food premixes medicated with tetracycline and methods for stabilizing them are described. In one embodiment, a medicated food premix comprises 15% by weight to 65% by weight of a pharmaceutically acceptable chlortetracycline hydrochloride, 20% by weight to 85% by weight of a vehicle and 0.1% by weight. 10% by weight of a binder, where all amounts are based on the total weight of the animal feed supplement. Also included are: methods for preparing a medicated food premix; the use of chlortetracycline hydrochloride in the manufacture of a medicine to treat microbial infections in animals; and a composition of an animal feed. |
