abstract |
This refers to processes for preparing nitro compounds derived from unsaturated C2-30 fatty acids; unsaturated C2-30 fatty oils; esters derived from the reaction of C1-20 alcohols with unsaturated C2-30 fatty acids; C2-20 polyolefins C4-C20 polydiolefins; C8-20 copolymers derived from polyolefins and vinylaromatics; and C4-30 alkylated phenols by nitric acid or gaseous nitrogen dioxide. This class of extreme pressure additives was found to be extremely effective for processing steel, stainless steel and special alloys of titanium and nickel or low iron content. |
