abstract The pharmaceutical or nutraceutical composition for the prolonged release of an active ingredient, such as ferrous sulfate, comprising at least one coated granulate; said granulate being coated with a particle comprising said active ingredient coated with at least two layers comprising a combination of excipients. It also refers to a process of preparing said composition and its use. Claim 1: Pharmaceutical or nutraceutical composition comprising at least one coated, prolonged release granulate of an active ingredient, said granulate being coated by a particle comprising said active principle coated by at least two layers characterized in that they comprise a combination of excipients composed : at least one copolymer (a) of esters of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid having a molar percentage of quaternary ammonium groups less than or equal to 8%, in association with a second copolymer (b) of esters of acrylic acid and methacrylic acid having a molar percentage of quaternary ammonium groups greater than 8%, in a mass ratio (a) / (b) between 60/40 and 80/20, and with an amount of (a) between 2.5 % and 5.0% by dry weight of the total weight of the composition. Claim 25: Process for preparing a pharmaceutical or nutraceutical composition according to any one of claims 1 to 17 characterized in that it comprises the following steps: 1) coating the active principle with an aqueous dispersion of the two copolymers (a) and (b), in the mass ratio (a) / (b) is between 60/40 and 80/20, and with an amount of (a) between 2.5% and 5.0% by dry weight of the total weight of the composition; in a paddle mixer, 2) Granulation of the granulate obtained in 1); 3) Drying of the granules obtained in 2); 4) Fluidized air bed coating of the dried granules obtained in 3) by spraying an aqueous dispersion of the two copolymers (a) and (b), in which the mass ratio (a) / (b) is comprised between 60/40 and 80/20, and with an amount of (a) comprised between 3.5% and 5.0% by dry weight of the total weight of the composition; 5) Drying of the coated granules obtained in 4).
