abstract The present discloses topical compositions comprising O-desmethylvenlafaxine (ODV), a selective serotonin and norepinephrine inhibitor, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. In certain embodiments, the topical formulations herein contain one or more percutaneous / permucosal absorption enhancers. Methods for the preparation and use of these compositions for the treatment of various diseases and disorders such as vasomotor symptoms and pain are also presented.
