18-methyl-19-nor-17-pregn-4-en-21.17-carbolactones of the general formula (1) wherein Z is an O atom, two H atoms, a group = NOR or = NNHSO2R, wherein R is an H atom or a C1-4 or C3-4 straight or branched chain alkyl group; R4 is an atom of H, halogen, methyl or trifluoromethyl; R6 and / or R7 may be in alpha or beta position and are, independently of each other, C1-3 or C3-4 straight or branched chain alkyl, or R6 is an atom of H and R7 is a chain alkyl group linear or branched in alpha or beta position with C1-4 or C3-4 or R6 and R7 are each an atom of H or R6 and R7 together form a methylene group in alpha or beta position or an additional bond. These compounds have a gestagenic and antimineralocorticoid action and are suitable for producing pharmaceutical preparations, for example for oral contraception and the treatment of pre-, peri- and postmenopausal disorders. |
