A pet food composition comprising an added boron source, which is chosen from the group consisting of dog food compositions, cat food compositions, and mixtures thereof. Said food composition is in the form of dry kibble foods, semi-wet foods, wet foods, and mixtures thereof, and comprises between 0.001% and 5% of the added boron source, by weight of the composition. Said added boron source is chosen from the group consisting of boric acid, sodium borate, boron citrate, boron aspartate, boron-enriched yeast and mixtures thereof. Use of a source of boron added in the manufacture of a composition for use in providing a benefit in weight management in a mammal of the group consisting of dogs, cats, and combinations thereof. Said use where the composition is a food composition for pets. |
