abstract A process for the isomerization of pentenenitrile in an educt stream is described, in which the isomerization is performed in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst in a distillation column, such that during the isomerization the isomerization educt is distillatively enriched in relationship with the isomerization product in the reaction zone of the distillation column.
