titleOfInvention PROCESS TO PREPARE OCARBAMOIL COMPOUNDS IN THE PRESENCE OF ACTIVE AMINA GROUP
abstract Claim 1: A process for preparing an O-carbamoyl amino alcohol represented by the formula (1), in which: n is an integer from 0 to 5; R1, R2 R3 and R4 are individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl and arylalkyl wherein the aryl portion thereof may be unsubstituted or substituted with (X ') m, where m is an integer from 0 to 4 and X 'is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, halogen, hydroxy, nitro and trifluoromethyl; R5 and R6 are individually selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl and arylalkyl in which the aryl portion may be substituted or unsubstituted with (X ') m, where m and X' are as defined; or R1 and R5 together with the carbon and nitrogen to which they are attached can form a non-fused or fused heterocyclic ring having 4 to 10 members; the process comprises reacting an amino alcohol represented by the formula (2), in which R1, R2, R3 R4, R5 and R6 are as defined above; with a cyanate and an excess of an acid in an organic solvent medium.
