titleOfInvention LOW TEMPERATURE DISINFECTANT / STERILIZER FOR MEDICAL DIPOSITIVES AND TOPICAL APPLICATIONS
abstract A powder composition that reacts in water forming one or more peroxycarboxylic acids in an effective antimicrobial concentration. It is important that its usefulness is both for topical antimicrobial application and for effective disinfection / sterilization of instruments. It comprises the combination of a perborate, one or more acyl and / or aroyl donors, a buffer system that allows the pH to rise to approximately 9 for rapid formation of one or more peroxycarboxylic acids and then fall to approximately 7.5 to a stability and killing of sustained microbes. Preferably, it includes a surfactant that facilitates antimicrobial efficacy, as well as other minor ingredients.
