titleOfInvention TREATMENT WITH ARTROPODICID ANTRANILAMIDS
abstract This relates to methods for protecting a propagule or a plant grown therefrom against invertebrate pests which comprises contacting the propagule or the propagule site with a biologically effective amount of a compound of formula (1). Claim 1: A method of protecting a propagule or a plant grown therefrom from an invertebrate pest, characterized in that it comprises the following steps: contacting the propagule or the propagule site with a biologically active amount of a compound of formula (1), an N-oxide thereof or an acceptable salt for use in agriculture thereof, where: A and B are independently O or S; R1 is H, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkoxycarbonyl or C2-6 alkylcarbonyl; R2 is H or C1-6 alkyl; R3 is H, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C2-6 alkynyl, or C3-6 cycloalkyl, each optionally substituted with one or more substituents selected from the group consisting of halogen, CN, NO2, hydroxy, C1- alkyl 4, C1-4 alkoxy, C2-4 haloalkoxy, C1-4 alkylthio, C1-4 alkylsulfinyl, C2-4 alkylsulfonyl, C2-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C2-6 alkylcarbonyl, C3-6 trialkylsilyl, phenyl, phenoxy, heteroaromatic rings of 5 members, and 6-member heteroaromatic rings; each 5-membered heteroaromatic ring phenyl, phenoxy, and 6-membered heteroaromatic ring optionally substituted with between 1 and 3 substituents independently selected from the group consisting of C1-4 alkyl, C2-4 alkenyl, C2-4 alkynyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C2-4 haloalkyl, C2-4 haloalkenyl, C2-4 haloalkynyl, C3-6 halocycloalkyl, halogen, CN, NO2, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-4 haloalkoxy, C1-4 alkylthio, C1-4 alkylsulfinyl, C1-4 alkylsulfonyl , C2-4 alkylamino, C2-8 dialkylamino, C3-6 cycloalkylamino, (C) alkyl (C4-8 cycloalkyl), C2-4 alkylcarbonyl, C2-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C2-6 alkylaminocarbonyl, C3-8 alkylaminocarbonyl and C3- trialkylsilyl 6, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-4 alkylamino, C2-8 dialkylamino, C3-6 cycloalkylamino, C2-6 alkoxycarbonyl or C2-6 alkylcarbonyl; R 4 is H, C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, C 1-6 haloalkyl, CN, halogen, C 2-4 alkoxy, C 2-4 haloalkoxy or NO 2; R5 is H, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 haloalkyl, C1-4 alkoxyalkyl, C1-4 hydroxyalkyl, C (O) R10, CO2R10, C (O) NR10R11, halogen, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-4 haloalkoxy, NR10R11, N (R11) C (O) R10, N (R11) CO2R10 or S (O) nR12; R6 is H, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 haloalkyl, halogen, CN, C1-4 alkoxy or C1-4 haloalkoxy; R 7 is C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, C 1-6 haloalkyl, C 2-6 haloalkenyl, C 2-6 haloalkynyl or C 3-6 halocycloalkyl; or R7 is a phenyl ring, a benzyl ring, a 5- or 6-membered heteroaromatic ring, a naphthyl ring system or an aromatic fused 8, 9 or 10-membered heterobicyclic ring system, each ring or ring system being optionally substituted with between one and three substituents independently selected from R9; R8 is H, C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 haloalkyl, halogen, C1-4 alkoxy or C1-4 haloalkoxy; each R9 is independently C1-4 alkyl, C2-4 alkenyl, C2-4 alkynyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C1-4 haloalkyl, C2-4 haloalkenyl, C2-4 haloalkynyl, C3-6 halocycloalkyl, halogen, CN, NO2, C1-4 alkoxy, C1-4 haloalkoxy, C1-4 alkylthio, C1-4 alkylsulfinyl, C1-4 alkylsulfonyl, C2-4 alkylamino, C2-8 dialkylamino, C3-6 cycloalkylamino, (alkyl) (cycloalkyl) C4-8 amino , C2-4 alkylcarbonyl, C2-6 alkoxycarbonyl, C2-6 alkylaminocarbonyl, C3-8 dialkylaminocarbonyl or C3-6 trialkylsilyl; R 10 is H, C 1-4 alkyl or C 1-4 haloalkyl; R11 is H or C1-4 alkyl; R12 is C1-4 alkyl or C1-4 haloalkyl; and n is 0, 1 or 2.
