PROCEDURE TO PERFORM A SOLID / LIQUID REACTION |
abstract |
A process for carrying out a solid / liquid reaction, where: a) a reaction suspension is prepared containing a first suspended reagent and a second reagent dissolved in a suspension medium, where one of the reaction products is indissoluble in the medium of suspension; b) the reaction suspension is introduced through an elongated reaction zone where the Reynolds number of the stream is less than 20,000; and c) the indissoluble reaction product formed is separated. Preferably, the first reagent is selected from salts of organic or inorganic acids containing oxygen or alcoholates, and the second reagent is selected from halides of inorganic or organic acids and alkyl halides. The process has the advantage that the indissoluble reaction product is produced in a way that can be well filtered. |
