abstract Synthetic derivatives related to 21-butenylspinosine are described and claimed. Specifically it is formula (1), respectively of formula (2), where: R3 is a group of formulas (3a) to (3v); R4 is H, OH, OR15, or = O; R5 is H or CH3; R6 and R7 are H or combine to form a double bond or an epoxy group; R8 in the formula (1) is a butenyl-1-trans, 1,3-butadienyl, n-butyl, 3-hydroxy-1-butenyl, n-propyl, 1-propenyl, 1,2-epoxy-1-butyl , 3-oxo-1-butenyl, or CH3COR15CH = CH-, and R8 in formula (2) is ethyl; R9 is H or a group containing one of the formulas (9a) to (9p); R15 is C2-6 alkyl, branched C3-6 alkyl, C3-7 cycloalkyl, C1-6 alkyl-C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6 alkyl-C1-6 alkylthio, halo- C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, formyl, C2-6 alkynyl, C1-6 alkylcarbonyl or branched C3-6 alkylcarbonyl, C3-7 cycloalkylcarbonyl, C1-6 alkylcarbonyl C1-6 alkoxy, C1-6 alkylcarbonyl halo, C2-6 alkenylcarbonyl, and C2-6 alkynylcarbonyl; R16 in the formula (9m) is a C1-6 alkyl, C1-6 alkenyl, formyl, C1-6 alkylcarbonyl or C3-6 branched alkylcarbonyl; N in the formula (9n) is an interger of 1 to 4; provided that at least one of the following conditions is met: a) R3 is selected from the group consisting of formulas (3g) to (3v); b) R4 is -OCH3, -OR15 or = O; c) R6 and R7 are H or R6 and R7 combine to form an epoxy group; d) R8 is propyl, n-butyl, 1,2-epoxy-1-butyl; CH3C (O) CH = CH, CH3CH (OCH3) CH = CH or CH3CH (OR15) CH = CH; e) R9 is selected from the group consisting of formulas (9j) to (9p); and provided that compound 22,23-dihydro-ram-I is excluded. These compounds come from modifications introduced, synthetically, in factors that produce certain strains of Saccharopolyspora pogona-LW 107129-NRRL 30141-, or mutant strains, which contain inactivated O-methyltransferase genes that possess acaricidal and insecticidal activity and are useful in the preparation of compounds with acaricidal and insecticidal activity. The objects mentioned in the title are also described and claimed.
