abstract | An isolated nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence encoding a toxin that is active against insects, wherein said nucleotide sequence: (a) has a complement that hybridizes to nucleotides 1767-2364 of SEQ ID NO: 1 in 7% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), 0.5M NaPO4, 1mM EDTA at 50 ° C, washed in 0.1XSSC, 0.1% SDS at 65 ° C; or (b) is isocoding with the nucleotide sequence of (a); or (c) comprises a 20 base pair portion of consecutive nucleotides identical in sequence to a 20 base pair portion of consecutive nucleotides of a nucleotide sequence of (a) or (b). Also disclosed are: a chimeric gene, recombinant vector, transgenic host cell, transgenic plant, seeds of transgenic plant, purified toxin, composition comprising the toxin, production method of a toxin, production method of a resistant transgenic plant to insects and insect control method. |
