abstract A kit comprising: a) a first component containing one or more oral unit dosage forms of an active ingredient, each unit containing approximately 50 mg to approximately 200 mg. of the active ingredient, wherein the active ingredient is a compound selected from the formula (1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester of said compound, wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of -H, CH3 and -CH2OH and R2 is -CH3; and b) a second component containing a bottle or a series of bottles, each bottle containing a single dose of solution for injection or multiple doses of solution for injection, each dose containing approximately 30 mg as active ingredient. at about 400 mg of paclitaxel. The compounds of formula (1) are cell cycle inhibitors and have potent anti-cancer therapeutic activity. Paclitaxel is also useful in cancer therapies. The combination of these chemotherapeutic compounds is particularly useful in the treatment of cancers of the breast, colon, rectum, lung, uterus and prostate. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising said chemotherapeutic compounds.
