abstract 2,4-diamino-1,3,5-triacines, procedures for their preparation and their use as herbicides and plant growth regulators. Compounds of the formula (1) and their salts, wherein R 1 means C 1-10 alkyl, C 3-6 cycloalkyl, C 1-10 alkoxy or C 1-10 alkylthio, optionally halogenated and in the case of the cyclic radicals optionally substituted by C 1 alkyl -6 and C1-6 haloalkyl; R2 and R3 mean hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, CHO or [C1-10 alkyl] -carbonyl optionally halogenated; R4 is hydrogen, C1-10 alkyl, C2-10 alkenyl, C2-10 alkynyl or C3-6 cycloalkyl, any of the four radicals mentioned as last being unsubstituted or substituted by one or more radicals of the halogen group and in the case of cyclic radicals also by C1-6 alkyl and C1-6 haloalkyl; any of the radicals R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 independently of one another are hydrogen, halogen, nitro, cyano, thiocyanate, C1-10 alkyl, C2-10 alkenyl, C2-10 alkynyl, C1-10 alkoxy, C2- alkenyloxy 10, C2-10 alkynyloxy, C1-10 alkylthio, C2-10 alkenylthio, C2-10 alkynylthio, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C5-6 cycloalkenyl, phenyl or heterocyclyl, any of the 13 radicals mentioned in the latter term being unsubstituted or substituted, at least one of the radicals of the group R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 being different from hydrogen, and at least one of the radicals R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 having been selected from the group of the alkenyl radicals C2 -10, C2-10 alkynyl, C3-6 cycloalkyl, C5-6 cycloalkenyl, being any of the four radicals mentioned in the last term unsubstituted or substituted, are suitable as herbicides and as plant growth regulators. The compounds can be prepared according to procedures according to claim 6.
