Anhydrous antiperspirant formulations in which a particulate antiperspirant active is suspended in a carrier fluid, can produce significant visible deposits, when applied to the skin or when transferred to clothing. Anhydrous antiperspirant suspension rods that exhibit poorly visible deposits are obtained using a carrier fluid, in which at least 45% and preferably at least 60% of their weight, comprises an emollient oil containing oxygen having a refractive index at less than 1, 465, together with an extrudant, comprising a wax or a non-polymeric fiber forming gelling agent, excluding certain gelling agents or combinations of gelling agents. Preferred emollient oils include alkyl benzoates and alkylphenylsiloxanes. Waxes may even comprise fatty alcohols. |
