abstract A purine compound L-nucleoside that responds to formulas (1) to (4) that exhibit immuno-modulatory activity, especially that modulate the activity of Th1 and Th2. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound such as those described or a pharmaceutically acceptable ester or salt thereof, mixed with at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. Use of the purine compound L-nucleoside to prepare a pharmaceutical composition of application in a method of treating a patient suffering from a medical condition which does not respond positively to the administration of said compound and comprising the steps of: provision of the compound; administration of a dose of the compound to the patient; and observation of the patient to verify the effectiveness and appearance of side effects.
