A liquid composition for oral administration that includes a pharmaceutically active drug coated with an effective amount of flavor masking agent of a mixture of polymers of (a) dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and a neutral methacrylic acid ester (MM / EAM) and (b) an ester decellulose, in an aqueous medium, in which the weight ratio of the polymer of the cellulose ester in relation to MM / EAM is approximately 40:60 to 90: 10, preferably 60:40. The liquid composition utilizes an inverted enteric coverage that is soluble in the acidic pHs of the stomach, generally 1.0 to 4.0, but relatively soluble in the neutral pHs of the mouth. Coverages allow rapid release and absorption of the drug, which is generally desirable in the case of liquid dosage forms. |
