A method for flavoring an ingestible composition with a flavoring agent in purified form, without accompanying naturally occurring substances present in the guava. The flavoring agent can be used in a wide variety of edible vegetables such as compositions for chewing gum, hard and soft candies, dairy products, drinking products including juices and juices, and the like.
