FORMULATIONS OF VACCINE OF MULTIPLE ANTIGENS |
abstract |
A new vaccine composition is provided comprising: (a) a purified Vi polysaccharide of Salmonella typhi and (b) at least one other antigen where the components of the vaccine are stable and do not interfere with each other. In this way, the composition of the vaccine makes possible a simple vaccination for the protection against typhoid fever and other diseases, such as hepatitis A, prone to be contracted by travelers. A method for obtaining the S. typhi Vi polysaccharide is also described where the extraction and purification of the Vi polysaccharide is carried out in the absence of phenol. |
