A compound of alkoxylated amine salt neutralized by aromatic sulfonic acid having the formula [(HB) +] nAn- wherein An- is: 1 or 2 wherein each R is independently selected from the group consisting of alkyl of 1 to 24 carbon s, and C7-24 alkylaryl, m is a number from 0 to 5, n is a number from 1 to 3, p is a number from 0 to 3, and q is a number from 0 to 3 and r is a number from 0 to 4, s is a number from 1 to 3, where (HB) + is the cation of formula 3 where R4 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, C1-24 alkyl and C2-24 alkenyl -CH2-, each R5 is independently straight or branched C2-4 alkylene, x is a number from 1 to 50, and y is a number from 0 to 50; Composition and surfactant pesticide formulation that contains it and method of use thereof for crop protection. These compounds are useful in life science and industrial formulations and have been found to be suitable as surfactants without alkyl phenol ethoxylates as the latter do not always provide the most desirable combination of design specifications and profitable features. |
