A method for treating a paar meat product reducing a microbial population therein, a method comprising the steps of: (a) treating said meat product with an antimicrobial composition comprising: (i) an antimicrobially effective amount comprising at least 2 ppm of one or more mono- or diperoxycarboxylic acids of up to 12 C atoms; and (ii) an antimicrobially effective amount comprising at least 20 ppm of one or more carboxylic acids of up to 18 C atoms; and (b) reduce the microbial population. |
