titleOfInvention | AN ILLUMINATOR TO DIAGNOSE OR TREAT A RELIEF SURFACE |
abstract | An apparatus and light that radiates for diagnosis or photodynamic treatment using an illuminator that comprises a plurality of light sources that are generally adapted to the surface with relief and that radiate the surface with relief with light intensity of substantially uniform intensity. Light sources may comprise fluorescent tubes generally U-shaped that are commanded by electronic ballasts. Adjusting the reactance voltage controls the output power of your bos. The tubes are supported by means of a metal or plastic plate housing and are covered with a polycarbonate protector that directs the flow of cooling air into the unit and prevents contact between the glass and the patient in case it breaks a tube. An aluminum reflector located behind the tubes increases both the irradiation output and the uniformity of the distribution of the output. The separation between the U-shaped tubes is varied to increase the output at the edges of the illuminator and make the output more uniform. In addition, with a cooling device that includes a fan with its corresponding intake and exhaust holes, the different portions of the tubes are cooled to improve uniformity. A method for supplying light of substantially uniform intensity that consists in providing greater cooling to the straight path segment to the curved path of the light source. A light sensor monitors the output of the U-shaped tubes to deliver a signal intended to adjust the output of the tubes. |
