An amino acid compound of formulas (I) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt that is obtained therefrom where: R is hydrogen or a lower alkyl; R1 to R14 are independently selected from hydrogen, straight or branched alkyl of 1-6 carbon, phenyl, benzyl, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, hydroxy, hydroxymethyl, amino, aminomethyl, trifluoromethyl, -CO2H, -CO2R15, -CH2CO2H, -CH2CO2R15, -OR15 is a straight or branched alkyl with 1 to 6 carbonosphenyl or benzyl, and R1 to R8 are not simultaneously hydrogen. A pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a compound as described and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. One of said compound for preparing said useful pharmaceutical composition for the treatment of epilepsy, fainting, neurodegenerative disorders, depression, anxiety, panic, pain, neuropathological disorders, gastrointestinal disorders such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammation, especially arthritis. |
