A food dressing that lowers elevated serum cholesterol levels and lowers elevated blood pressure. Said dressing comprises from 2 to 98% by weight of a vegetable sterol derived from vegetable sterol, from 0 to 30% by weight of magnesium, from 0 to 30% by weight of calcium, and from 0 to 50% by weight of potassium. There is disclosed a method for producing such a dressing, methods for preparing food products such as: bread, biscuits or biscuits, sausages or minced meat products, a mixture of shortening-vegetable oil, pickled, salad dressing, mayonnaise and yogurt and the use of said dressing in the preparation of food products. |
