titleOfInvention USEFUL COMPOSITION TO PREPARE A SEMIPERMEABLE MEMBRANE OF POLISULPHONE, PROCESS TO PREPARE THE MEMBRANE, SEMIPERMEABLE MEMBRANE OF POLISULPHONE, DIALYZER, EXTRACORPOREOUS BLOOD TREATMENT DEVICE AND LIQUID SEPARATION DEVICE.
abstract Compositions are described which are useful for producing a homogeneous semipermeable membrane, the composition comprising (1) a polysulfone compound, (2) a solvent, such as sulfolane, antipyrine, deltavalerolactam, ftalat or diethyl, and mixtures thereof, and (3) a non-solvent, such as poly (ethylene glycol), di (ethylene glycol), tri (ethylene glycol), glycerol, and mixtures thereof. Methods for the manufacture of semi-permeable membranes are described by homogeneously mixing the composition of the polysulfone compound, solvent, and non-solvent, melting the composition, and melt spinning the molten composition. In addition, homogeneous, semi-permeable, fusion spun membranes, useful for liquid separation processes, are described, such as, but not limited to, microfiltration, ultrafiltration, dialysis and reverse osmosis; process to prepare the membrane; a dialyzer, an extracorporeal blood device and a separation device comprising the membrane.
