titleOfInvention | New chrome tanned leather chip removal process to produce collagen and chrome hydrolyzate |
abstract | A chromium chip removal process characterized in that it consists of treating the solid tannery residue in three stages: a) alkaline hydrolysis with the following combination of reagents: NaOH = 5.5 - 7.5% and lime = 3.0 - 4.0% (referred percentages weight of chips free of moisture), reaction time between 2 and 4 hours, at a temperature between 55 ° C - 60 ° C; b) enzymatic hydrolysis with 4% proteolytic enzyme, reaction time between 2 and 4 hours, at a temperature between 55 ° C - 60 ° C; raising the temperature at the end of this stage to 95 ° C for 20 minutes; and c) treatment of a part (40-60%) of the protein hydrolyzate with a cation exchange resin and subsequent mixing with the rest of the non-exchanged hydrolyzate. |
